Next week we will move forward with concrete steps. Now that the doctors at the UKE (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf) have given enough advice, the therapy plan is now being presented to me. It is explained to me exactly which methods and at which intervals I should be treated.
It then continues with an information appointment at the UKE. Here I will probably get more information about further help / support that is available. As I understand it, it’s about topics such as nutritional advice, naturopathy, psychotherapy, sports courses or administrative things, such as communication with the health insurance company.
Since a form of chemotherapy will definitely take place, the chemotherapy port implantation is due at the end of the week. A tube is then laid directly through my upper arm to my heart. Sounds scary, as well as possible side effects and risks… but it is actually a standard procedure.
I think I’ll know more by next weekend and will report back.
